Six In The Chamber at 2 and Change In The AM
I know it's late, but I gotta unload what was locked up in the chamber during the walk home and let you know what went down at that show at Riffifi last night.
1. Zeke Healey is a devastating guitar player. 2. He played a set of covers, sea shanties and some original compositions that were Appalachian in sound and oceanic in scope—amazing. 3. Rusty Santos has that same "is this thing on?" quirkiness as fellow A Collective family member Arial Pink, but he's much better live, especially with Sir Hisham's understated percussion pushing his songs along like a nice water flow. 4. While Pink retards around the stage like he's got a megaphone in one hand and something you don't wanna know about in the other, Santos holds his head high, belts out a few loopy phrases and sprinkles the mix with fairy dust and some nice melodies. He's good. 5. I didn't catch Inouk, but if they played "Elected", I fucking missed out. 6. Kudos again to Austin and co for putting this thing together. Also, Zeke Healey, please make a website so we can all get at you. For reals.
