Somewhere out there, there's an inspired aspiring pop svengali looking to coin the phrase COCO ROSIE IS A CRIME and launch a career. Somewhere else out there, there's someone thinking "with singing like that, those two should be arrested." And to round out the threesome, there's someone out there who thinks that the addition of Mr/Ms Antony to the Bianca/Sierra mix is either the greatest delight or the bitterest pill.

I'm not any one of those people, but I can say that the sisters Coco might have won me over with this one. It's an understatement to say that pair's vocal stylings are an acquired taste and until now I've been hard pressed to get with them. On mental paper, the two's gay Paris crushed velvet curtain lingering cigarette smoke and Genet novel on the table tableau sounded great, but the dirty dirty twosome never quite stirred me the way I thought they should have given their class A boho proclivities. Thus, I pulled the sheets and slept. Until now.

On this previously-released single from their forthcoming Noah's Ark LP (best album cover ever!) the two, along with the support of fellow conversation piece/artist Antony, demonstrate an understated tenderness that hits the perfect register of the fragile and the subversive. Pushed along by a wistful piano arrangement and some sort of percussive white sheet of background noise, the songs verses are indecipherable. But when Ant comes through with the hook all the beautiful boys/kings and queens/and criminal queers, everything starts to sparkle like the jewels on a second-hand necklace. Someone's playing dress up while Mommy's not home and it's fucking weird, but perhaps it's the secret jealousy that comes with observing someone do what they want when they want to do it that inverts and overrides the inherent creepiness of the music. Or maybe it's just it's a really pretty song and there's a fourth person in the room who's going to agree with me.

I just love Coco rosie..... her singing is like .... i dont know .... its just one of the most beautiful voice ive ever heard....
and antony sings like a beautiful bird from heaven....
and the combination of them both is just too much!..... i love them so much.....
if someone knows about some nice album of them that is recomended i would like to know about it.... thank you
