Lions, Cake and Booze Oh My!

Jennifer_lrg

I'm not even saying this because they've got Young Elz hooked on their vegan peanut butter whoopie pies, but delectables aside, Cake Shop has been killing as of late. The coffee/booze/record store/venue had eggplanting punk thrashers S.T.R.E.E.T.S (Skating Totally Rules Everything Else Totally Sucks) rock a set last night and tonight, Lion Fever are going to perform at CS for the kids who can't get enough chocolaty good underground dope—or enough booze-tinged blues/rock that sounds so seedy it could hang off a glass chandelier in a New Orleans gin joint.

Lion Fever singer Jennifer Pearl and co have been busy touring in support of their new Haunted Water LP that Dim Mak just released this Tuesday and I must say, the three songs they posted on the interweb might be the ONLY music on Myspace worth listening to. I kid, but it's some seriously good stuff and worth getting out to the show to check out. As if the vanilla frosted prospect of copping a Bush Tetras import 12" at 1AM wasn't enough to get you outta the house. Puleez.

Lion Fever will be joined by the Bellmer Dolls at Cake Shop
152 Ludlow (btw Stanton and Rivington) The cork pops at 9.
