One More Time
It's like this—I know there's nary a week that goes by that I don't write about the Double or Tomorrow's Friend, but I can't help but think anything besides that what's really real to me right now should have a regular spot alongside other Simple Mission faves like Bobby, Sir Hutz, Islands and the Coco Rosie gals. Chalk it up to me being insanely jazzed on the music they are making, but that's where things have been at for me Summer ’05.
And so, as we head into Fall, I'm going to let you know that el Double and TF will be playing together at a free outdoor show that's going down tomorrow at the South Street Seaport. Will it be the last sunny day of the season? Not likely—but it will be a sort of summation of a moment I've been fortunate enough to rap with y'all about during these past few months. Don't fret, ain't nobody going nowhere and with a grip of new releases from Blood On The Wall, Wolf Parade, Early Man, Calla and Martin Scorsese all on the way, you know it's going to be a good ass Fall. And to help ease us in to the breezier nights and more-than-decent days that are to come, Ted Leo will be playing at the same spot just two days later. You don't need to think twice—it's gonna be all right.

i saw tomorrow's friend. to be honest, i wasnt too impressed. maybe it had to do with the fact that the singer had her back to us the entire time? or that there were just no breaks in sound. there is only so much of the same sound i can take. but the double-oh man, they were great. nice people too!
